How in Russia celebrates Valentine's Day

Valentine's Day is celebrated on February 14 in many countries around the world. Named this day for one of two early Christian martyrs named Valentine. In Russia, the holiday is of a secular nature and has been celebrated for a little over 20 years and is very popular among the youth audience. For many people, February 14th is a great occasion for declarations of love; on this day, you can make a romantic date. Shop owners try to decorate the windows with red hearts and offer customers various souvenirs.

The most popular Valentine's Day gifts in Russia are soft toys. They are followed by the traditional ones - flowers, chocolate and champagne. It is also customary to give jewelry, postcards and invite you to dinner at a restaurant.
